N.C. Labor Commissioner Cherie Berry – Brief Bio
Commissioner Berry was elected to the statewide office of Commissioner of Labor in 2000 after serving eight years in the N.C. House of Representatives.
Berry won re-election to a second four-year term in 2004 and to a third four-year term in 2008.
Berry is the first elected female Labor Commissioner in North Carolina’s history.
She is a native of Catawba County and currently resides in Newton, N.C.
Her goal as labor commissioner is to make North Carolina the safest state in the country for workers.
